EWMS is very proud to announce that we can now do Overnight Oximetry Tests for your patients who are in need of new oxygen concentrators. During this global pandemic we are finding that getting oxygen testing done is more difficult than ever. Doctors and at-risk patients need to protect themselves with the number of COVID-19 cases rising on a daily basis. EWMS is prepared to help ease this difficulty by providing At Home Overnight Oximetry testing. This testing allows the patient to test overnight in the comfort of their own home and bed. It is non-invasive, convenient, easy, and less expensive than getting one done in a sleep lab facility.
In order for a patient to qualify for a stationary and / or portable oxygen concentrator the Department of Labor (DOL) requires the patient to have an oxygen test completed. The patient is able to choose from the four allowed tests listed below.
- Pulmonary Function Test (PFT)
- Arterial Blood Gas (ABG)
- Sleep Study
- Overnight Oximetry Test
EWMS Overnight Oximetry Testing Process:
- The Physician will need to fax a sleep study / overnight oximetry prescription to EWMS at 801-820-7702
- Patient is contacted to schedule test
- Overnight Oximetry test mailed out to patient (with shipping time this will take 2-3 days)
- Patient wears test, for a minimum of 4 hours, and returns the device in the prepaid envelope that is provided by EWMS (Shipping time 2-3 days)
- EWMS uploads testing to the Breathe Website
- Breathe’s certified professionals score the overnight oximetry data
- Test results are provided and sent to referring physician and EWMS
Once EWMS receives your test results, we will be able to submit all required paperwork to the DOL. All that is left will be the approval or denial from the DOL of your oxygen equipment.
Before sending the test out to your patient, EWMS will collect the patient credit card information. The credit card will only be charged should the oximetry testing equipment be damaged by the patient. These are expensive units and we need to make sure they stay in good working order.
